Our History
Gauston Corp’s unique name is inspired by Gauston Tidwell. In 1948 Gauston began working in the construction business and became part of the early, booming development of the Coachella Valley. More than passing on his name, Gauston Tidwell passed on a legacy of quality construction to his son, Todd Tidwell.
Todd continued the trade and in 1985 founded Tidwell Concrete Construction. What started as a small, one-truck operation, soon grew into a thriving family business with dozens of employees. The ability to provide cutting-edge structural concrete for areas continually threatened by earthquakes ensured the business would become well known for its industry leading innovation.
This was on full display as Tidwell Concrete Construction contributed to several significant construction developments including, the Eisenhower Annenberg Pavilion, Eisenhower Ambulatory Center, Westfield Palm Desert parking structure, Agua Caliente Casino parking structure, Spotlight 29 parking structure and the Edom Hill Transfer Station.
While still maintaining a significant role within the business, Todd passed the torch onto his son, Justin Tidwell. In 2011, Justin followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather by taking over the family business. It was at this time that the business was rebranded as Gauston Corp. This not only paid tribute to the lasting legacy of Gauston Tidwell, but it also symbolized the ongoing excellence and innovation that provided the foundation for their continued service of Everything Concrete. Gauston Corp continues to provide an expanding variety of high-quality construction services to the Coachella Valley and beyond.
